Easter Seals Crossroads' outpatient therapies and specialty programs are designed to help people with disabilities enhance their independence at work, home, school and in the community.
Assistive Technology Recognized nationally as a leader in assistive technology, we serve as an excellent resource to provide specialized accommodations for home, work or school in order to increase independence.
Augmentative Communication Through the use of specialized technology to empower adults and children who are unable to speak or write understandably, our specially trained speech-language pathologists provide evaluations, recommendations, consultations and training.
Autism Services Easter Seals Crossroads has been providing services that address the needs of those with autism for over 70 years. As the needs of this growing population are more thoroughly defined, we continue to offer programs to meet those needs.
Occupational Therapy Easter Seals Crossroads' occupational therapists use adaptive methods and devices, sensorimotor rehabilitation, purposeful activity and fine motor skill development to promote independence in self care, work and productive activities, and play and leisure skills. Specialty programs provided by our occupational therapy department include driver evaluation and training, in-home low vision consultations and seating and positioning services to individuals who use wheelchairs.
Physical Therapy Our physical therapy program helps people with neurological, developmental or orthopedic impairments improve their gross motor functions such as standing, walking and lifting. Our therapists have experience working with individuals with stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, orthopedic impairments and/or chronic pain. Additionally, our physical therapists are trained to complete Functional Capacity Evaluations to make various determinations regarding an individual's physical and psychosocial capabilities, needs and readiness to pursue a vocational goal. Home modifications and occupational health services are also available.
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Clinic A Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, also known as a physiatrist, specializes in assisting individuals restore function. Their comprehensive focus includes the physical, psychological, social and vocational needs of each patient. Physiatrists treat a variety of diagnoses inlcuding cerebral palsy, spinal cord and head injuries, neurological disorders such as mulitple sclerosis, ALS, chronic pain and musculoskeletal disorders. The physiatrists at Easter Seals Crossroads meet their patients' needs through access to a comprehensive team of professionals, functional capacity evaluations and more.
Respite Services Our Respite Program provides an opportunity for rest and relaxation for family members and primary caregivers of individuals with special needs or disabilities.
Speech-Language Therapy Our licensed, certified speech-language pathologists provide evaluation, consultation and treatment to individuals with speech and language disorders to help improve their ability to communicate with others. Learn more about our augmentative communications program.
